Dear Parents,
As always there is lots going on in Lucan East, please read what follows to stay up to date with all our news!
We have received some great news. Our recent Book Fair has raised 1,008 euro, this will be used to buy books for our school.
A big thank you to all the parents who helped out with the day to day running of the fair and to everyone who bought a book. Well done everyone.
Many Junior Infant parents attended the get together in the parents room recently, we talked about the importance of applying for Garda vetting, the CLOVER reading project and the use of the parents room. The Parents Association members Niamh and Colette were also there to tell everyone about the book savings club and the fundraising and events that they organise. Some parents decided they would like to create a whats-app group for their class. If you didn’t make it on the day and would like to know more about what was discussed, you can see me around the school or send me an email.
The get together for Senior Infant Parents will be on Friday 30th November at 9 o’clock in the Parents room.
The Parents Association are organising a MOVIE NIGHT for 5th and 6th classes on Monday 26th November, a note will be sent home with all the information. The children voted for this event themselves and are really looking forward to it. The event will take place in the youth club on Monday evening. It is parents responsibility to arrange drop of/ collection for this event.
The Winter Raffle tickets are being sent home with all children this week. There are some great prizes: TV, Tablets, printers and much more. All money raised from this raffle will go towards Lego robotics for the school. Please return any unwanted raffle tickets as the can be resold.
English class for parents have started. There will be another chance to enrol for classes in January if you missed out this term.
The Student Council have recognised homelessness as one of the biggest problems in Ireland today, they have decided to do a whole school collection for non-perishable food items/ toiletries etc. which they will donate to a local charity helping homeless people. The student council will be speaking to all classes next week and giving them all the details.
Thanks for your continued support in all events and fundraising,
