A chairde (friends),
It has been a great first week back at Lucan East ETNS. I have really enjoyed meeting up with old friends and making new ones in our community. Today in assembly we spoke about the members of our school community being like a jigsaw. Every year we make a new jigsaw made up of children, teachers and parents. It was amazing to see all the positivity that surrounds our school this week.
Over the coming weeks you have your child’s class meeting where the partnership between teacher and students begin. I attended Senior Infants Austria this morning and it was great to see such a large turnout. Student reports and attendance can be accessed on the parent portal. Most parents have logged on by now and you can log onto the office if you have any questions.
The back yard is supervised after 8.25am in the morning. The school accepts no responsibility for any children before this time.
The closing date for our photography competition is September 30th.
If your child no longer has a water bottle they can ask their teacher.
The PTA will be having their AGM in early October.
Many thanks for all the cooperation with parking. It is great to see a lovely calm school each morning. Remember we really encourage as many people as possible to walk to school or park and stride.
In all child protection issues I (Eddie) am the designated liaison officer and in my absence it is Linda Maher.
There will be training in Lift off to literacy on the 17th of September if any parents are interested.
I hope everybody has a good weekend and I will see you all next week,
Míle buíochas,
Eddie
