No matter what’s in the news, we never miss an opportunity to have fun while learning here in Lucan East ETNS!
Today we had our annual book day and as always the children came to school in lots of wonderfully creative costumes. 6th class buddied up with Junior Infants to read them their favourite books and there were book talks and DEAR (drop everything and read) time in every room. It was a great day and was enjoyed by all.
In addition to this, today marked the last day of our Health and Wellbeing Week. Thanks to the sponsorship we received from South Dublin County Council and help from the PTA we had yoga classes and fruit tasting for all of our students during the week. We were working on using our five simple strategies to help us feel better:
- Connect
- Be Active
- Give
- Take Notice
- Keep Learning
For the parents, Sinéad (our HSCL Teacher) organised breakfast in the parents room to thank them for all of their constant help and support.
I’d like to thank Sinéad for all of the work she put in to organising this very important week for our school community.
Our building assessment will be carried out over the next week and we will keep everyone updated with any information we receive regarding this.
We wish all of our students a safe and happy midterm and look forward to seeing them all again in November.
With every best wish,
