It was great to see so many familiar faces and new friends walk through the gates of Lucan East ETNS yesterday. There is a great atmosphere around the school and all the children have settled in really well.
Our special class for children with Autism is opening this year and will be called Ireland class. Niamh Byrne is the teacher and this is a really exciting development for the school and our local community.
I urge you all to get involved in the life of the school this year. There will be lots of events happening and the Parent Teacher Association will be having its AGM in the coming week. I look forward to working with the new committee in the coming year.
We now have 420 children attending our school. This year we would really like to encourage as many children as possible to walk to school. We hope to get our Walk ON Wednesday (WOW) up and running again in the next few weeks. I have been working with parents and our caretaker Billy to ensure that all users of the car park are safe.
I would like to welcome our new teachers and SNA’s. They are a great addition to the school I would like to wish them well in their new posts. There will be class meetings in the coming weeks which will give you and opportunity to meet you child’s teacher and find out about homework and routines in the class.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support and to say that I am really looking forward to the year ahead,
Míle buíochas (Many thanks),
Eddie
