Newsletter

Welcome to our fourth year at Lucan East ETNS. We have come a long way since we started and we are really happy with our new extension.
Every Friday a weekly enewsletter will be sent out to your email if you subscribe to it on our website at www.lucaneastet.ie. This cuts down on paper and will help to keep you all up to date on a regular basis. Make sure you also are receiving text alerts from the school.

Parent general Meetings will be held starting next week at 8.45am. Times and dates can be seen below. At these meetings the teacher goes through the plan for the year and what is expected in terms of homework etc. As an Educate Together school we feel it is important to emphasise the partnership between parents and teachers. These meetings mean that everybody knows what is coming up over the year and avoid unnecessary confusion. It is very important that you attend and we look forward to seeing you there.

Tuesday, 13th September Senior France (Niamh) & 1st Romania (Drew)
Wednesday, 14th September Senior Australia (Maria) & 1st Spain (Gráinne)
Thursday, 15th September 2nd Norway (Linda Jane) & 3rd China Simon
Friday, 16th September 2nd Brazil(Sinéad) & 4th Egypt Orlagh

Swimming will take place this year for second class. All extra curricular activities will start next week and will cater to a wide range of tastes.

We ask that any children who are in first class upwards be dropped at the roundabout where they can walk into their line around the back of the school. School starts at 8.40am and all the children need to be in their lines at this time. This leaves the ball courts free for parents of children in Junior and Senior Infants.

You will find attached a questionnaire for our time capsule which will form part of our Art project in the school. Please fill it out and return it to your child’s class teacher. Our project is based on the new community at Lucan East and the surrounding area and will be a great addition to the school.

School books can still be purchased at the office.

Each child should have their own hand towel which they can use for drying their hands.

Remember to put down the names of any younger brothers and sisters on our pre-enrolment list. Our enrolment is on a first come first served basis so the sooner you get your name down the better.

The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) will have their annual general meeting on Wednesday October 5th. Any enquiries to the parent teacher association can be directed to pta@lucaneastet.ie.

The board of Management will shortly publish an annual report of its work over the last year. There will be a new board starting in November which will be in place for the next four years.

Don’t forget to sign up to our enewsletter and make sure you are receiving text alerts.

I would like to wish you all a very successful year.
Míle Buíochas (many thanks),
Eddie
