Dear Parent(s)\/Guardian(s) of our New Junior Infants 2020\/2021,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are really looking forward to your children starting school with us in September and are aware that this may be a worrying time for you all! Be assured that Lucan East Educate Together will follow all departmental and health guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of all of your children.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this time of the year we usually host a Junior Infant Open Evening during which we show you around our school, go through all aspects of school life, and introduce ourselves to you and your children. Unfortunately, this cannot happen this year so in order to give you a flavour of school life in Lucan East ETNS we have made a video for you and your child to watch.\u00a0 This will introduce you to me and your child\u2019s teacher and includes some suggestions as to how to prepare for September.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, keep talking to your children about coming to \u2018big\u2019 school.\u00a0 Reassure them if they are anxious.\u00a0 Prioritise story time, practice nursery rhymes, and do some counting (1-10) in your home over the next couple of months to ease your child\u2019s transition to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will keep in touch with you and keep you up to date with the latest thinking and advice from the Department about the opening of the school in September. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be working even harder this September to make sure that you and your children feel part of our lovely school and settle in well. I am really looking forward to meeting with you all and your children and to welcome you properly to our school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
