I would like to welcome back everyone to the new school year at Lucan East ETNS. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever. We have lots of exciting plans and we look forward to working in partnership to make the school a place where every child achieves their potential.
Here are some points to note for the weeks ahead:
- School books and materials and book rental fees can be purchased from the office.
- Each class from senior infants up will have a class meeting where the teacher wil go through what the children will be learning for the year and advice about homework etc. This always proves to be really useful for parents and I would encourage you all to attend.
- Walking to school was one of the successes of our last school year and we would encourage everybody to get out there every morning and evening and pound the footpaths of Lucan. It can be a great way to spend quality time with your children and is good for the environment.
- Our car plan is posted on the noticeboard at the front of the school. Children from first class line up in the junior yard at the back of the school. This is supervised from 8.25am onwards and means it can help alleviate traffic by facilitating parents who want to drop these children off a little earlier. We try to reserve the ball courts to parents of infants in the morning with other parents dropping at the roundabout and then continuing out of the school.
- Extra curricular activities will have their registration day in the coming weeks.
Finally I would like to wish you all a fantastic year.
Go neirí linn,
Eddie
