School Book Day – a parents view
Every October in our school we have a Book Day. This is a day when Children and Staff dress up as a character from one of their favourite books. This year it was decided that the P.T.A would take part in the dressing up too WOHOO (not) so reluctantly I dressed up as a pirate. Not a favourite character of mine, but the only costume I could get my hands on last minute 🙁 I tried to dress as a muggle but no-one was having that ha Katie dressed as Cinderella and Michael dressed as Harry Potter 🙂 All the children loved the day. It is so nice to see a love for reading grow in children of all ages. I lived in our local library as a child. Dare I say it, I was a bit of a nerd. But none the less, I am glad to say that those days started my love of reading and it is a blessing in my life that I am grateful for. The PTA went into a few different classes in the school and read to the children. I read two of my favourite children’s stories. “Green eggs and ham” and “Peter rabbit”. I had so much fun taking part in book day. Katie and Michael liked having me in their classes (I think ha) looking forward to next year already.
