Our school inspectors were in the school this week and were looking at all aspects of our school and school life. They will be writing up a report which we will circulate to all our parents when it is completed.
Our car parking committee has been looking at our car park rules and come up with an agreed procedure for parking in the school. We are currently getting signs made which will show all the rules which will be put up in the playground for everybody to see and will make all the rules very clear for everybody.
This week all the children across the school have been working on report writing and there are amazing examples of all their work to be seen. Seachtain na Gaeilge is coming and also the PTA have been busy organising our shamrock sale for our national day. They are also organising a lepruchain treasure hunt during Seachtain na Gaeilge ( Irish Language week). Irish is a very important language in this country and is necessary for a number of jobs and professions like Primary teaching. It is also a requirement for entry to the National University of Ireland. We really try to make Irish fun for all the children and you will have noticed me talking to the children in Irish in the morning which gives them an opportunity to use the language outside of the classroom.
Linda will be away for the next month studying at St Patrick’s College Drumcondra for a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education. While she is away She is being replaced by Mairéad Connolly who will be working in third class.
Kind Regards,
Eddie
