A Chairde (Friends),
As we draw the curtains on another school year in Lucan East ETNS, let us not forget that learning happens at every moment of every day. School may be over until next September but each of us, young and old, continue to learn on a daily basis. I wish you and your children a very happy and safe summer holiday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our staff, the Board of Management, the Parent Teacher Association and all who have made this school year so productive and pleasant for our whole school community.
We had many memorable moments and events this year, some historical, musical and sporting. They are all great memories and ones I’m sure will live long in our students’ minds.
School books are available to buy on Tuesday and Wednesday 25th and 26th of June in the library. I would like to thank the book club volunteers for all their help with this.
School Reports will be going home on the 21st June. I have read and signed them all and can assure you that they have all been completed with care and empathy towards all the children in our care. Our attendance strategy in the school is working well and the table below describes your child’s percentage of attendance. Being in school every day increases the life chances of your child and puts them in good stead for their life ahead.

Our school underwent a very successful Whole School Evaluation this year. The inspectors praised the excellent work in numeracy, literacy and other curricular areas as well as commending us on the vast body of work we have undertaken as a school community since the school opened in 2008. The parent’s survey which you filled out revealed that 99% of parents are satisfied with the school and the service we provide. This is something we can be immensely proud of as a school community.
I am already looking forward to next year as I write this letter to you. Next September will see 66 new students join our community. We will welcome them on board and hope that all the dreams and hopes they have in starting their primary school education are realised. We will have all classes from junior infants to sixth class next year and we have many exciting plans to improve on the great work that all the teachers and other staff are doing.
We say goodbye to Orlagh and Maria for the next academic year as they go on career break. We thank them for all their work in the school to date and look forward to their return.
Senior Infants and First class are being reconstituted into two classes for next year and if your child is in one of these classes you will find below their new class and teacher.
