Lucan East Needs You
I would like to welcome you all back to school after the summer holidays. Here in Lucan East ETNS we are lucky to have a teacher appointed to the role of Home School Community Liaison coordinator. The HSCL coordinator acts as the link between home and school, encouraging attendance and punctuality, supporting parents, staff and students.
As part of this role I will organise parents’ talks and classes. These will take place in our new Parents’ room, which has moved to a new location in the school. It is now downstairs. This will be opened in the coming weeks.
We have a very active PTA who need volunteers to carry out all the great work they do for the school. They organise fundraising events, school disco’s, the book fair and the graduation breakfast for our sixth class students.
Also, this year we are celebrating ten years of educating and learning together in Lucan East. If you would like to be part of our ten year celebrations or join the PTA please contact me.
Throughout the school year I will be organising parental involvement activities in your child’s class. According to Department of Education circular 0031/2016 any parent who partakes in regular activities in the school needs to be Garda vetted. If you would like to participate in activities within the classroom, sports days, tours etc. we require you to fill in the Garda Vetting form and return it to the school with a valid passport and proof of address. This ensures the safety of all children in the school. I will be giving out forms at the orientation meetings this month.
We really encourage parental involvement in our school and we have many opportunities for volunteering.
If you have any questions about classes, volunteering or about the school you can email me sinead@lucaneastet.ie or phone 086 1701972.
I look forward to meeting you,
Many Thanks,
Sinead
HSCL coordinator
