A Chairde (Friends),
The weather is getting a bit colder as winter sets in and I wanted to remind you all of the hygiene rules that we have in place. We know that at some stage every child gets sick but these simple measures really reduce the risks of infections spreading and ensures that the children can be in school and not miss valuable learning time:
- Each child in the school should have their own towel for washing their hands. This can be the size of an adult face cloth and should be changed regularly. We will be checking regularly to see that each child has one. It means that germs will not spread by sharing towels.
- We will be working with the children on respiratory etiquette which is basically putting your hand to your mouth or elbow when coughing etc. This will help everyone in and out of school.
- Each bathroom in the school has soap and water and we will be encouraging all members of the school community to make sure they wash their hands after they use the bathroom.
Following these simple rules will ensure we will reduce the risk of colds and viruses spreading. I will be visiting all the classes in the coming days to raise awareness on this and would really appreciate it if you would discuss this with your child as well.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions,
Kind regards,
Eddie
