It’s hard to believe all of our students have been back in school for nearly 3 weeks already. We have been working hard on using our manners throughout the school over the last week by answering the class phones politely, holding the door when an individual is passing and knocking on the door and saying ‘Gabh mo leithscéal’ when entering a room. The children have been doing a great job implementing this and we are all very impressed with them.
Gaelic Football
Our boys and girls Gaelic Football Teams both played really well in their matches this week. It’s great to see so many people involved in sport in the school. The boys won their match against Divine Mercy and were very excited upon their return. We wish both teams the best of luck in all of their upcoming games!
Clubs
The following clubs still have spaces
1. Hockey Club (sports): 1st – 6th class on a Wednesday
2. Chess: 1st – 6th on a Thursday
3. Scratch (coding): 3rd – 6th on a Friday
4. Science (3rd – 6th): 3rd – 6th on a Wednesday
If your child would like to do one of these clubs please send €20 in an envelope with your child’s name and club name into school with your child on Monday.
Swimming
The children from Fiji class (2nd) started swimming this week. This is very exciting and enjoyable for the children. Well done to all of those who participated.
Roundabout
I would like to thank all of the parents for their cooperation at the roundabout in the mornings. It is also great to see so many children walking to school.
The orientation meetings have been happening in each class level for the past 2 weeks and will continue for the next 2 weeks. Thank you to all of the parents who could attend and if you could not attend and would like the information sent to you please contact your child’s teacher by email.
We are busy settling into the new school year at present but we have great plans for different events in the coming months and will keep you updated both here and on our twitter account.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend. Enjoy the good weather 🙂
Le buíochas,
Gráinne
