Community games Art

Next week Lucan East will host the community games art competition. If you feel your child would like to take part contact Eddie and he will give you an entry form

• The Art competition caters for Boys and Girls in the Under 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 age groups.
• Competitors must be under the age limit on 31st July in the year of competition.
• Each competitor submits one piece of artwork (painting, drawing, coloring,) generally on an A3 size sheet. Competitors provide all their own materials.
• Each entry must have a Community Games theme, i.e. activities relevant to Community Games.
• At National competitions, in the U12/U14/U16 events, on commencement of the competition, children are given a choice of 4 themes taken from a list of 10 .Art Titles 2014 (U12, U14 &U16),Badminton,Basketball,Draughts, Gaelic Footbal,lGroup Singing, Handball (one wall), Hurdles, Javelin, Judo and Swimming
• Participants have up to 2 hours to complete their artwork.
• Visual aids (i.e. photos, pictures) are not permitted during the competition.
• First and second place in each category go through to the County finals, which usually take place in May.
• The winner of each category goes through to represent Clare in the National finals, usually towards the end of August.
