Many thanks to all the parents who returned their questionnaires this week, it is really appreciated. We have had a lovely week celebrating friendship under the guise of Amnesty International’s friendship week. You can look at other posts to see this in action across the school. Well done to our cross country runners for doing so well at the South Dublin races this week. Our car parking committee will meet next monday to discuss and update our traffic plan. The committee is made up of representatives of the PTA and the board of management. We hope to have an updated traffic plan for afternoon collection ready in the next few weeks. I would like to ask everybody to have patience while driving in the school. It only takes 10 minutes for all the cars to leave the school at home time which is not an unreasonable amount of time. If everyone just waits a minute or two and allows traffic to clear it would have a much better effect on traffic in the school.
We had a very successful coffee morning from the PTA this week. There was a workshop with Andrea from South Dublin County Council where the parents looked at ways they could improve the community here in South Lucan. Shortly we will be posting the addresses and contact details for all the local sports clubs and community organisations. Lucan has lots to offer and not all of it costs money or is very expensive.
Finally could you please remind all your friends to sign up to our weekly newsletter. At the moment we get 50 opens every week from those who have subscribed and I would like to raise that to 100 by the end of the year. To subscribe to the enewsletter is very simple! Just sign up on the front page of our website.
Next week the school will be closed on Thursday and Friday for mid term break.
Go raibh maith agaibh,
Eddie
