Spring is here and we have lots happening in Lucan East this term. This Friday our Gardening class for adults begins, if you haven’t already signed up you still have time! Audrey the tutor, will have lots of information about planting and fun projects for you to do.
Orlagh and Maragaret who look after the school garden are always on the lookout for volunteers to help out, if you have an interest in gardening but cannot make the gardening class, please come and speak to Orlagh or Margaret about how you can put your green fingers to good use!
Also this term, we are welcoming parent volunteers into Junior Infants to read to small groups of children in their child’s class. This will happen every Monday for four weeks as part of the CLOVER project. The children really love to see their parents in the classroom and parents equally get great enjoyment from this experience. It is a great opportunity for children and parents to enjoy story-time together. There will also be a trip to our local library for all involved.
Coming up in March,
• Parents of 2nd class children will be invited into the classroom to enjoy some art and get creative.
• Our ‘Walk on Wednesday/ parents walking group’ will start up again.
If you would like to participate or have any questions about the projects mentioned, please come and speak to Sinead.
