A chairde (friends),
We are all busy preparing for the new school year at Lucan East. The school reopens on Thursday 30th of August at 8.40 am for the new school year.
The office has been open since Thursday August 23rd and will be open all next week from 10 am – 2 pm if you want to buy school books.
There have been some changes in staffing over the summer. We are very sorry to be losing Aoife B., Alan, Aoileann and Aisling who have all secured jobs closer to home. Each of them has made a massive impact on Lucan East ETNS and they will be sorely missed but we hope to see each of them at some stage over the course of this year.
We would like to welcome back all of our existing staff members to the school as well as our new staff members – Conor, Niamh O, Catríona and Claire F.
- Conor is a table tennis champion and has a keen interest in Gaeilge. Conor taught with us in May and June of 2018 and will be teaching 4th class (Peru) this year.
- Niamh O also taught with us in May and June of 2018 and is a great camogie player and Irish dancer. Niamh has just returned from a summer of teaching in India and is eager to get started with teaching 3rd class (Austria) next week.
- Catríona is extremely musical. She plays flute and piano and enjoys teaching and singing in choirs. When working in another primary school she helped them to gain their 5 Star Centre Flag for PE and she hopes to help Lucan East to achieve this also. Catríona will be teaching 1st class (Finland) this year.
- Claire F. is also a musician. Claire plays the piano accordion for which she won medals in the Fleadh Ceoil na hÉirinn. Claire is a very experienced teacher who has worked in both special and mainstream schools both at home and abroad for the last 9 years. Claire will be working as a support teacher in the school this year.
I can tell 2018/19 is going to be a great year in Lucan East ETNS and we are really looking forward to seeing all of our super students and getting started.
Make sure you follow us on twitter and sign up to our weekly newsletter on this site for all the latest updates about the school.
Míle Buíochas (Many thanks),
Gráinne
