It’s been another busy week here in Lucan East ETNS. Our Junior Infants visited Lucan library as part of the CLOVER Project. They got to look at all the beautiful books that can be read or borrowed from the library and all the other great services available there and many of them are looking forward to becoming members.
There has been lots of work going on throughout the school on the school garden. We can’t wait to harvest our vegetables in June.
Our camogie and hurling teams had matches and training this week and Lucan East had another win! Congratulations to the teams. Your hard work is definitely paying off.
We also had Santry trials and Cross Country this week and the sun decided to come out just on time!
All of the students and teachers are looking forward to Active School’s Week next week with great anticipation. The P.E. Committee has many wonderful activities organised for the children including yoga, basketball, gymnastics, soccer, dancing and much more.
As part of Active Schools Week we will be having a Jersey Day next Friday 27th April. On this day everyone can wear their favourite jersey to school and bring in €1 which will go towards sports equipment for the school. We are trying to raise €2,945 so that we can buy a Vault, springboard and mats for gymnastics, new basketballs and indoor portable basketball nets, new basketball pole padding for the yard and training markers. All of the fundraising that is done between now and June will be going towards the purchasing of this equipment.
We are also starting to plan for the schools 10 Year Celebration which we hope to have in September/October 2018. We need as many hands on deck as possible to make this a fantastic and memorable celebration for the school community, especially our students. If you would be interested in helping in any way – big or small – please contact the office or email secretary@lucaneastet.ie.
We hope you all have a great weekend in the sun!
Is mise le meas,
Gráinne
