As we all go to the polls today we had a great assembly in Lucan East where all our student council candidates set out their stall to the entire school. It was great to see democracy in action and we all marvelled at the thought and preparation that had gone into each presentation. Next week the student council will vote using the PR system of voting. There were lots of great ideas for the school and we will update you all after the election.
A new parent teacher association has been elected. They have lots of great ideas for the year ahead and the committee will post a blog in the weeks ahead.
Many thanks to all parents for their cooperation in the car park which is greatly appreciated.
We are hoping to get a defibrillator for the school. We have come across a scheme where if you collect 300 old mobile phones we will get one free. I’m sure that every family has an old mobile phone they can donate. This will enable us to get a vital piece of life saving equipment which could save someones life one day.
I am also hoping to start work on the garden in the coming weeks. If there is any parent who would like to join the garden team they can email me at principal@lucaneastet.ie or leave their name with Lesley in the office.
Please also remember to put down the names of siblings for school. There are waiting lists every year and it only takes a few minutes to fill out a pre-enrolment form. Have a great weekend,
Eddie (Príomhoide)
