Another term is coming to an end and the Parent Teacher Association has had another successful term. Monies raised from the shamrock sales for the school amounted to over €800 so thanks to all the children and parents for getting involved.
I would personally like to send a BIG THANK YOU to all the parents who took time out of their weekend to come and help with the spring clean, they all got stuck in and as a result the school is fresher and cleaner.
We are all part of the school community and when people get involved and help each other out it is parents, staff and most of all the children who rip the benefits. I hope the success of Saturday will continue to grow and that all parents get more involved and help out with events and fundraisers. As always these events need your support to happen. It is our school and it is great that we are able to get involved in our children’s education. Our school is growing and this means our events and ideas need to grow with it. No matter how much time you have to spare it is always better than no time at all and many hands make light work. I think and hope all parents at the weekend enjoyed interacting with new people and having fun while doing a great job.
Mad Hair Day is our next event it will take place this Friday the 30th. As it will be the children’s last day before then midterm we thought we would let them have some fun and get them involved in fundraiser for their school, We ask each child to bring in €2, and fashion their crazy hair styles, wigs, coloured scarfs, etc. Each child will receive a certificate and there will be an overall best Mad hair award in each class.
The next day for the School Books Club will be Wednesday the 17th of April from 9am in the school hall. Members of the committee will be there to collect money.
After the midterm break we will be starting to plan the Summer Fair and hope to make it a fantastic family day out for us all. So please keep checking thenotice board, website and class reps for details on how you may be able to get involved and contribute to the day.
To all members of the committee who endlessly give their time in helping out and again to all parents who have helped out this term with the Book Fair, The Irish Food Tasting day, decorating the school for Seacthain na nGaeilge, Food Dudes and Spring Clean, thank you all for your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.
