The PTA for the new school year has been elected.
Our primary goal for this year is to improve the spirit of community
in our school. We are encouraging as many parents and children as
possible to get more involved. Whether this is by giving a little time
to the schools’ literacy and maths programmes, or helping to organise
and support some PTA events, all participation, no matter how big or
small, will be greatly appreciated.
Maybe you could wear pyjamas for a day, take part in a crazy hair day,
help paint the school mural, man a stall, supervise a movie, bake a
cake, sell some tickets, design a poster, read to a class, teach a
craft, donate a book, help collect some coins. Just be involved!
Of course we are hoping that these events will raise some much needed
school funds, but they will be run in the spirit of fun and community.
Our first event is a Fancy Dress Halloween Disco Party!!
This is for all classes and will take place after school, on Tuesday
October 22nd in the School Hall. We really hope lots of the children
will come along for dancing, treats and fun.
Refreshments will also be available for parents while the children are
boogie-ing, and it should be the perfect opportunity to come along,
enjoy the afternoon and get a chance to meet some other parents.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who might be available to
help out with decorations, supervising the disco, and/or providing
baked goods. You can register your interest on your child’s permission
slip, or just come and chat to Linda or any of the committee members
in the meantime.
Here’s to a successful year!
