A warm Welcome back to everybody after the summer break. It has been brilliant catching up with everybody after the summer break and we are really excited about the year ahead at Lucan East. There are a number of news items that we wanted to bring to everyones attention:

  1. Extra curricular activities will start in the next few weeks and you will receive information about clubs shortly
  2. Each child has been given a new water bottle for the year. Remember that these bottles are for water only and we do not allow fizzy drinks in school.
  3. Many thanks to all parents for not parking on our double yellow lines which ensures that traffic can flow more easily. We put in the lines following advice from atraffic management consultant during the summer.
  4. Alan is our Home School Community Liaison teacher this year and will be putting together an exciting plan of events for parents and students this year. Alan can be contacted by email at alan@lucaneastet.ie. He will also be putting regular updates on this site this year.
  5. Lesley will shortly be sending out detail for pupil personal accident insurance which covers children inside and outside of school.
  6. The children have been really enjoying our new Astro area and library facilities which will really add to the service that we provide in the school.
  7. The PTA will be having their AGM later in the month and are looking for new members to take an active role in the school. We have had an excellent  PTA here from day one and it has been a great support to children, parents and teachers in the school.
  8. Rang 2 (2nd class) and our outreach classes will shortly commence swimming classes.
  9. Our boys and Girls football teams will shortly be back in action in their Autumn leagues.
  10. Well done to all our new Junior Infants who have settled so well into school.

I would like to wish everybody every success for the year ahead and thank you all for your continued support,

Míle buíochas (Many thanks),
