The current Board of Management (BOM) of the school had its final meeting last Tuesday. Among the matters discussed were:
Formulating and passing a hire agreement for outside groups renting out the school building.
The board are happy that the morning drop off and collection rules are working well.
The board sanctioned sanctioned €1000 for learn together resources. Learn together is our ethical education programme which takes place in all Educate Together schools.
The school’s child protection policy was reviewed and now comes in line with new regulations in this area. The school plan and policy for PE was ratified by the board also as was the Health and safety statement.
A contribution was made to teachers in the school who are undertaking further study in the area of Education.
The board also sanctioned the padding of basketball poles in the yard.
I would like to thank Fionnuala Ward who has been chairperson of the board since the school opened in 2008. Fionnuala is stepping down after three years which has seen the school grow from humble beginnings to the great centre of learning it is today. I would also like to thank Jenny Byrne for all her hard work as teacher rep on the board.
The new board will meet in December. Our new chairperson is Emmanuel Bourdin who has been nominated by our patron Educate Together. Richard Dillan and Neysa Tormey are our parent representatives. We will have a display of our new board in the entrance lobby so you can put names to faces
