We come to the end of another very successful half term at Lucan East ETNS. It was great to see so many students, staff and parents dressed up as their favourite book characters. Reading has a central place in our school and today its importance is celebrated. There is a coin collection taking place and money raised will be given to the school.
In other news there will be a meeting about the new second level school which is due to open in September 2014 on November 21st at 7.30pm in the school. The school will be a welcome addition to the area. The VEC will be patron of the school in partnership with Educate Together.
Congratulations to Australia class who have just finished their “Lift off to Literacy”. Next term France class will take part in the programme. We are also starting a yard helpers training programme for the older children to help the younger children in the yard. Check out the display on our very successful maths week on the screen at the entrance to the school.
Next week the school will be closed for the mid-term break and will reopen on the 5th of November. Bain taitneamh as an sos ( enjoy the break),
Beir Bua,
Eddie
