many thanks to all the parents who attended the launch of the new secondary school for the area. It will be a great addition to South Lucan. The school is taking enrolments for 2014 only at the moment and we will let you know when this changes.
Our website will be revamped over the weekend and may be down for a little while while changes are made. We use the website as the main means of communication in the school. If you know of anyone who does not receive their weekly enewsletter to their email account tell them that they can subscribe to the newsletter by simply entering their email address in the space provided on the main page of the website. It is also very important to let the office know if you are not receiving text alerts from the school so that you don’t miss out on important information.
I would like to sincerely thanks all parents who attended for parent teacher meetings during the week. We had nearly full attendance and it is brilliant to see how supportive all the parents are in the work of the children and teachers. Junior Infant parent teacher meetings will take place in term 2.
Fourth and fifth class Olympic handball teams have been busy practicing with Eva (Adam’s Mum R2) and Paula at lunch time and will be entering some tournaments in the new year. We also hope that our chess club will take part in the Dublin finals of the community games. Many thanks to all the transition students who have been doing their work experience here this year and have transformed our school library.
Many thanks again for all the voluntary contributions which continue to come in. The school simply would not be able to function without this help. It is very important that education is protected in the up coming budget and I urge you all to raise this with our local public representatives.
Have a great weekend,
Eddie
