We had the visit of the Sam Maguire cup to the school this week and we had a great assembly in the hall with our guests from Esker ETNS to celebrate Dublin’s win in the All Ireland Football final. Lucan Sarsfields are our local GAA club and they are situated on_the Newcastle road. They offer lots of opportunities for boys and girls to take part in Gaelic games and are well worth checking out.
It is very important that children cycling to school use the cycle path and that all toddlers in the school premises are under close supervision of an adult. These extra precautions are worth it in my opinions as they keep all our families safe and it is far better to prevent an accident than promising to be more careful after one has happened. Many thanks to all the families who are obeying our traffic rules and walking to school this year. We have an extra seventy children in our school this year and our traffic is a lot smoother than it has been in previous years.
We will have Olympic handball coaching for 3rd and 4th class next week.
The children will be having their annual book day on the day of the mid term break holidays (Friday 28th October). All the children will be dressing up in their favourite book characters and we will be collecting 50c from everybody as part of the Educate Together national office fundraising day.
Have a great weekend,
Eddie
