It has been a great week at the school. The children all performed brilliantly at our series of winter concerts on Wednesday and Thursday. The theme of “peace and friendship” was explored by all classes and there was a great buzz and excitement throughout the school. The teachers put a huge amount of work into the productions which really showed in the final result. We hope to have a DVD of the concerts available to parents in the new year for a small fee.
I would like to thank everybody in our school community for making 2012 such a memorable year for Lucan East ETNS. By looking through the news content of this website you get a flavour of the great work that goes on in our school every day. Many thanks to all who have given their time and become part of school life. I would also like to thank those who have donated money to the school without whom our school would simply not be able to run and provide the service that it does. Congratulations to all our students who have perfect attendance this term. They will be presented with their medals at the first assembly of the new term as will our class winners. Congratulations to Darius (Rang 5) and Yusuf (Snr Infants) who won two bicycles in our walk to school initiative. The winning classes which were the best walkers and cyclists to school were Canada and Egypt classes.
We return to school on Monday 7th of January. One of the things we will be working with our parent body this term is a safe driving week to ensure there is safe driving on school grounds especially in the afternoon. Our school will also be representing Lucan in the Dublin chess finals for the community games on January 25th. 2013 will bring many advances and challenges to our school and we face into next year with high expectations and endless possibilities. I would like to wish everybody a safe and peaceful holiday,
Beir Bua,
Eddie
