Hi everyone,
This month’s Language of the Month is Yoruba. Yoruba is one of the four official languages of Nigeria and is spoken by about 22 million people worldwide! Lots of our school community members speak Yoruba. We have displayed some words and phrases in Yoruba on our Language of the Month notice board and will learn how to say hello and goodbye in Yoruba in one of our assemblies with Eddie. If you speak Yoruba and have anything you would like to add to our notice board that would be great! Maybe you have a picture of your family in traditional Nigerian clothing or maybe you could write something in Yoruba and we could add it to our notice board. Just drop it into Lesley in the office.
Thanks a million and remember once you learn how to say hello and goodbye in Yoruba try to use it with your classmates.
