The language of the month for September and October is Bulgarian and well done to Dea (Romania 1st class) who came down to the office to teach us how to say good morning in Bulgarian over the intercom.
I have been very impressed by all the children who have been using their Irish phrases around the school and Gráinne will shortly be starting a phrase of the week which the whole school will learn each week. We hope that all the parents will join in too.
Language classes and a craft class for parents are due to start soon so sign up early to avoid disappointment. We hope to have Irish classes for parents who want to help their children with their Irish homework next term. Maths for fun where parents come in to work with children in maths will also begin in Rang 1 (first class).
Last year Tom taught 4th class to play chess and this term China class are the lucky one and Tom will work with this class until the winter holidays.
Many children have really improved attendance this term and we will have to give out loads of medals for good attendance before the term is out.
