In Brazil Class we completed two experiments using eggs this week. Our first experiment looked at the effect of vinegar on an egg. When the eggshell comes in contact with the vinegar a chemical reaction occurs. We left our egg in Vinegar over the weekend and will see on Monday what has happened.
Our second experiment explored density. We learned that a raw egg will sink in fresh water, but float in salt water. Can you think why this happens??? Well……………… salt water has more density (it is heavier) than fresh water so it is able to support the weight of the egg. The egg is heavier than the fresh water so it sinks!!
Its pretty interesting stuff 🙂 !!!
