Today Peru class became chefs and made their very own butter! We have been learning all about how people lived on farms long ago and the differences between then and now. We decided to make our own butter like the old days by hand.
It was quite easy but we were very tired at the end from all the shaking!
You start off by pouring cream into a bottle. Add a pinch of salt.
Then you shake the bottle…and shake it…. and shake it some more! It’s tiring work so we took turns!
After shaking it A LOT you are left with some liquid (that’s the buttermilk) and a lump (that’s the butter)!
Spread it on some crackers.
