Intercultural week has kicked off at Lucan East. As an Educate Together school we love celebrating the diversity within our community. This morning we had a wonderful assembly which was hosted by Karen. Lots of children dressed in traditional national dress. We talked about the difference between respect and tolerance and about how our new community has flourished in the last eight years.
Elaine entertained us with an Irish dancing display with everybody . We had some wonderful Indian dancing. It was great to have the whole school together. We unveiled a new video which shows the students of Lucan East saying words of welcome in a multitude of languages:
We had zumba classes with Nurlina and Cricket with Adamstown cricket club. Well done to karen and all the teachers for making this week possible. We will have an international food day tomorrow as well.
