It’s been a great second week back in Lucan East ETNS. We had the Garda Band in to perform for us on Tuesday to kick off our ’10 Year Celebrations’ and what a performance it was. From Spongebob Square pants to Ed Sheeran – they played something for everyone to enjoy.
That’s not all that has been going on for our 10 year celebrations. There are groups of children practicing performances for our formal event in October. 6th class have been busy making invitations, the PTA are making arrangements for the week and the whole school is working on an art project which will be unveiled at the formal event. I’m busy in the background trying to organise some fun activities for the children which will remain a surprise for the students until the day. It’s all hands on deck and we are really looking forward to it.
Planting Day – Weds 26th September
To bring some colour to the school in preparation for our 10 Year Celebration, we will be holding a planting day on Wednesday 26th September. On this day we will be inviting children to bring in some outdoor flowers and plants to plant in our window boxes, flower pots & hanging baskets, on the round about and anywhere else around the school that needs to be brought to life.
If you would like to donate a plant to the school for this event here is a suggested list of plants from our gardening committee that would last and look beautiful:
If you can’t find any of these plants in the shops don’t worry – any outdoor plant will do! We will be very grateful for any donations of plants received.
You can send a plant in with your child (with their name on it) any day between now and Wednesday 26th and we will bring your child out to plant it themselves.
Punctuality
A big THANK YOU to all of our students and parents for working hard to be in school on time. The punctuality in the mornings has really improved and we are delighted to see this.
