A Parents Sewing & Crafts Class has started this week. The class will be held in the parents room each Wednesday from 11:15am to 1:15pm. All materials are supplied for this Class. We are lucky to have a professional and friendly art teacher to teach the class. The more parents that are involved the better we come to know our school community and the more fun we can have together 🙂
When I heard about some morning sewing classes in my children’s school, I wasn’t too keen. I couldn’t sew if my life depended on it. But I wanted to be involved as much as possible in the school. I also thought it was a great way to meet and talk with some of the other parents. So each Monday morning for two hours for about 8 weeks overall, I went to my sewing classes. I am still no expert but I’m proud to say I now have some clue what I’m doing 🙂 I even sewed the hem of a pair of Jeans the other day 🙂 Parents that took part in the class made lots of different things. Pin cushions, wall hangings, and and teddies to name a few. During our classes I made these 2 bears. they’re stuffed “teddies”. I made them in Christmas colours so they are now Christmas polar bears 🙂 I gave one to my mum as a little gift. She was delighted and very impressed with me. I wasn’t excited when I heard the idea of the class. I went along more as a rep from the P.T.A. But I am so glad that I did, because I made some new friends and gained a new “talent” to build on in the future. So Moral of the story is, never be afraid to try something new 🙂 you never know what you could learn.
