The school garden is looking very neglected after the winter. Now that spring is here and the weather is starting to get warmer (we hope!!) we would like to make our garden into a place where we can grow vegetables, where flowers can blossom, fruits can flourish, birds, insects and other mini beasts can visit. All classes will have the opportunity to grow something for the school garden. Egypt class are going to make a scarecrow. I have constructed an insect hotel and you will hear more about that later. For any green fingered friends and parents who have some free time could you give your names to Lesley and we can schedule a dig out to get the garden ready. Even if you don’t know anything about gardening but would like to lend a hand please let me know.
Over the next few weeks the classes will be involved in planting seeds and when they start to grow we will move them to the beds in the garden. If anyone has any large planter pots or window boxes we could use them in our garden.
