Parents Plus Course
We are running a Parents Plus Course via zoom. the Parents Plus Children’s Programme shows parents how to communicate positively with children, illustrating ways to encourage good social skills, as well as well-researched methods to tackle behaviour and emotional problems. The aim of the course is to help parents not only solve discipline and other childhood problems, but also for parents to develop closer and more satisfying relationships with their children.
Topics include:
- Solving childhood problems.
- Play and special time with children.
- Encouraging children’s learning/supporting homework.
- Setting rules and helping children keep them.
- Establishing daily routines.
- Managing misbehaviour using consequences and sanctions.
Course details:
The course consists of four one and half hour group sessions on zoom. Starting on Tuesday Nov 9th and finishing on Tuesday Nov 30th. An introductory session will take place in Lucan East ETNS on Tuesday Nov 2nd @ 10am, we will be giving out course books at this and it is a nice way to put a real life face to the people who will be doing the course on zoom.
If you are interested in attending the course please contact Sinead by email sinead@lucaneastet.ie
PTA AGM
You are all members of the Parent teacher Association because your child attends the school.
The PTA will hold their Annual General Meeting on Thursday 4th November via zoom
A link to attend the PTA AGM and the agenda will be sent to you the week of the meeting.
Afterschool Clubs
Afterschool clubs will recommence after 8th November. The teachers who are organising these clubs will be in contact with you all during the week of 1st November with more details.
As the majority of primary school children are not vaccinated and the number of Covid cases is still quite high, each activity and club will have to operate in a ‘Pod’ system. Therefore, children from the same class will have to sit together in a pod in each club and try to sit one metre apart from boys from another pod or class. The numbers in each activity or club will be restricted and will operate on a first come first term basis. Keep an eye out for more information about clubs during the week of 1st November.
Happy Holidays
We wish you all a calm, safe and relaxing mid-term break and look forward to seeing all our super students back in school on Monday 1st November!
Go n-éirí libh,
Gráinne
