Hot Meals
We have come to the end of our first week of hot meals. The feedback from the children has been very positive. However, we are aware that some children are not eating the meals selected and these are ending up in the bin.
Please talk to your child about which options they preferred and select them for next week. You can do this by logging in to your carambola account (https://order.carambola.ie/) and updating the food choices. If your child only wants the snacks but no hot meal, this is also an option. Your login details are the same as before.
Changes to food choices for next week must be done by midnight.
If your child is not interested in receiving any Carambola lunch (hot meals or snacks) please email either the class teacher or Lesley (secretary@lucaneastet.ie) so we can remove their name from the list. Your child should then bring in their own lunch.
Food Dudes
This week we had an enjoyable celebration of Healthy eating in our school. The children ate oranges, apples, blueberries, bananas, peppers, carrots and cucumbers while in school.
Bring a book/ Buy a book
Bring a Book, Buy a Book is fundraising event organised by the PTA. Children are asked to bring in their unwanted books that are in good condition next week. Books will be collected between the 21st of February and 1st of March. On the 1st of March the PTA will collect all the donated books and set them up for sale in the school hall. The parents are also hoping to restock the class libraries on this day.
If you would like to volunteer to help out on the 1st of march email sinead@lucaneastet.ie . The book sale will take place on the 2nd of March in the school hall. Children will attend the sale with their class teacher. All books are priced at €1 so there are some great bargains!
Careers Day
Austria class (6th class) took part in a careers day today place over zoom. Parents shared with the class the varying roles and experiences of their working lives and it was greatly enjoyed by all. A big thank you to the parents who participated in this event and to Sinead for organising it.
