School Tours
It’s been a very busy and exciting week in Lucan East ETNS. Ghana Class, Switzerland Class and our Junior Infant Classes all went on school tour this week.
Ghana and Switzerland Classes had a great time at Kidspace in Rathcoole and the Junior Infants were in Clonfert petfarm. It’s great that all of our school activities are back up and running after the disruption caused by Covid and everyone is having a ball!
Next week 1st Class are going to Dublin Zoo and I’m sure they’ll have a ball also.
Santry Sports for Schools
Lots of our 6th class students attended Santry Sports Athletics Competition this week. There were many different events for example sprint races, high jump, long jump, shot put. All of the children put in fantastic performances and we had 3 medal winners which is a great result. We are very proud of all of the children’s efforts and look forward to attending this event next year with more of our Lucan East Legends 🙂
6th Class Bake Sale
6th Class held their annual bake sale today. The pupils baked gorgeous cakes, buns and biscuits and there was great excitement around the school as the classes went down to buy and taste their goods. 6th Class decided to give the proceeds from their Bake Sale to Dogs Trust and some of the proceeds will go towards the 6th class graduation.
Grandparents’ Day
Next Monday we will be celebrating Grandparents’ Day in the school. On this day some of our students’ Grandparents will be visiting the school and some will be joining in remotely. This will give the grandparents an opportunity to see their grandchildren’s school and to share some nuggets of wisdom with the classes. The children will also be doing performances for the grandparents, afterwhich the grandparents will be invited for tea, coffee and cakes in our PE hall. We absolutely love this event in Lucan East and are thrilled to be doing it again. Keep an eye on our twitter page for updates next week.
Junior Infant Open Day
After school next Tuesday we will be inviting our New Junior Infants in to see their new school and meet their new teacher. The names for the new classes have been chosen by our current 6th classes and will be called Moldova Class and Somalia Class. We can’t wait to meet the new members of the Lucan East ETNS community!
