Maths Week
We have had a great week this week for Maths Week where the children enjoyed a number of activities throughout the week. 1st to 4th class participated in Maths PE stations in the hall on Thursday. There was also a Maths Scoot in the hall where problems were stuck to the walls and the children worked in pairs to solve them. We had a Maths Eyes Competition where the winner got a €15 One4all voucher and a Kahoot quiz where the children used the school’s devices to engage in Maths activities in fun, interactive way. Thanks to the teachers in the Maths Committee who organised this week’s events.
Enrolment
Just a reminder that we are now accepting enrolments for junior infants for September 2023. Should you wish to apply for a place for your child you can complete the enrolment application by click here
Parents’ Association
On Wednesday morning the Parents’ Association held their Annual General Meeting in the school hall. It was great to see some new faces at the meeting and the support of the parent body is something that we greatly appreciate in Lucan East ETNS. Thank you to everyone who was able to come along on the day and for anybody who couldn’t make it you can still contact Niall at hscl@lucaneastet.ie if you would like to help out with any of the activities throughout the year.
Halloween Disco
We are delighted that events such as the Halloween disco can return this year. On Friday, October 28th, there will be a junior disco at 1.20pm and a senior disco at 2.20pm in the school hall. We would like to thank the Parents’ Association for their help with organising this popular event. The student council will be putting their creativity skills to the test as they decorate the hall in the days prior to the event.
GAA
Well done to 3rd and 4th class boys who have been on the road again this week. The coaches are very impressed with the strides that the team is making. We had a very close match against Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada this week when we came up just one point short in a thrilling encounter. Well done boys! 3rd and 4th class girls and the senior girls team continue to train every week. Unfortunately, the senior girls’ team had to succumb to the weather this week and their match was cancelled on Thursday.
Mornings
We have returned to lining up in the infant yard each morning. A member of staff will be on morning supervision in this area from 08.30. Access to this yard is not permitted before this time. The class teacher will collect each class from the yard at 08.40. We would ask that parents remain outside the wall of the infant yard, please, and thank you for your cooperation once again. Well done to all of the children who have adapted so quickly.
Diwali
We would like to wish all of our families celebrating the Diwali festival a very happy and safe Diwali celebration this year. Have a look at the wonderful work of some of our students below.
Have a lovely weekend,
Simon.
