Welcome Back
It was great to see all of the children back in school this week after the 2-week break. Thankfully, the weather is improving and the children are getting out more for yard time and physical education lessons. The brighter weather affords us a lot more opportunities for fun and engaging activities over the coming months.
Dancing
It was straight back into activities on Monday morning when we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Star Dance Academy. The children had great fun in the hall while trying out their new dance moves. Star Dance Academy runs dance and gymnastics classes in Scoil Aine Naofa in Lucan just in case any children have a keen interest in that.
Swimming
After a long absence due to the pandemic we are finally in a position to go back to the swimming pool. On Tuesday and Thursday we had four classes in total who went swimming this week. It was a very enjoyable experience and the children are already looking forward to next week. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to develop their swimming skills while also heightening their awareness of water safety.
Educate Together AGM
The Educate Together AGM takes place on Saturday 6th May in Griffith Barracks Multi-Denominational School. There are now over 117 primary and secondary schools in the Educate Together network.
Green Schools
The Green Schools committee have started to weed the school garden in an effort to get it ready for the Spring/Summer term. Niall, our HSCL teacher, will shortly be looking for help from parents with this task. The committee has also set up a group of litter police to collect any litter from around the school yard immediately after break time. We are hoping that this will help us to keep on top of this. Our Tidy-Up Thursdays are continuing where a class covers the school grounds to do a clean up each week.
Eid Mubarak
Eid Mubarak to all of our families who are celebrating this weekend. We hope that you have an enjoyable time with your families.
Simon.
