I would like to start this week by thanking everyone for their cooperation each morning and afternoon as we completed the essential maintenance on the fencing in the basketball courts.

Rehearsals are in full swing for the winter concerts, which are on next Monday and Tuesday. The children and their teachers and SNAs have put in a huge amount of effort into preparing for the shows. We will have some wonderful singing, poetry, dancing and more. We look forward to welcoming you all again next week. The show dates and times are as follows:
Monday, December 19th:9.15am-10.30am (Junior & Senior Infants), 11.05am – 12.30pm (5th & 6th)
Tuesday, December 20th:9.15am-10.30am (1st & 2nd), 11.05am – 12.30pm (3rd & 4th)
We regret that we are not in a position to provide parking on the day but due to fire regulations and evacuation procedures we need to have the basketball areas clear.
5th Class: IFI – Railway Children
Both of our 5th classes headed to the Irish Film Institute this week for a workshop based on their class novel ‘The Railway Children’. It was great to have an extra layer to enhance their learning in this area of their literacy.

No Hot Lunches Next Week
There will be no hot lunches on Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st.
Lucan Community Gardaí
Last Friday we were lucky enough to have Lucan Community Gardaí come to visit the school. They spoke to 5th and 6th classes about the dangers of physical fights and the importance of online safety.
The children were reminded about phone safety and the dangers of posting content online.
We would like to thank Lucan Garda station for their assistance and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
